Storm & Wastewater
Stormwater Management
Stormwater Management is becoming a routine component in land development projects, particularly along riparian corridors where rainwater runoff surge and silt are degrading water quality and disturbing the natural ecology. This surge water may be temporarily detained in a tank for a short period of time or permanently retained in a shallow pond. Runoff ponds hold the water but do little to remove floating trash and oil. In addition to being high maintenance, open ponds are often an unattractive nuisance as well as a breeding area for insects. Shallow ponds generally take up more space or valuable real estate than underground storage tanks.
Sewage Holding and/or Treatment
Sewage Holding and/or Treatment with fiberglass tanks is often preferred by building officials in environmentally sensitive areas because they are manufactured as a liquid tight one-piece vessel without sections or joints. Fiberglass is unaffected by sewage generated acids which attack concrete tanks. Darco Tanks’ wastewater treatment and holding tanks are used in restaurants, hotels, parks, campgrounds, and other commercial sites requiring a large holding or process capacity. Darco Tanks staff will work with your Wastewater Engineer to generate a design for approval by the local authority having jurisdiction over on-site wastewater treatment systems in your area.
Stormwater Retention and Detention
Stormwater Pre-Treatment
Darco Tanks supplies underground fiberglass cisterns that can be used for stormwater management. Underground tank systems can be designed to intercept sand, floating trash, and oils as well as store and release the clarified water at approved rates. Upstream interceptors and separators are very helpful in removing floating trash, sand, and oil.
Large Commercial Fiberglass Septic/Holding Tanks
Darco Tanks are also commonly used as sewage holding vessels where no public sewer is available and on-site treatment is not feasible. Tanks must be designed and approved for each specific application and site. Holding tanks must be routinely pumped by a licensed wastewater transporter. Treatment plants often install wastewater surge tanks to temporarily store excess effluent captured during the peak water use periods of each day.

Ground Water
Specify the water table depth in the area and if it is constant, seasonal, or in a flood plain.
Soil Conditions
Sand, clay, bedrock, hillside, marsh, etc.
Jurisdictional
What are any specific requirements to be addressed as requested by your local city, fire district, county, state or other governing entity?
